General Info:
The operater prepares the leading edge of the web from a new roll while the other supply roll is unwinding.
The splice may be initiated by a manual push button or by machine control logic, which also controls the entire sequence.
When the splice is initiated, the web clamps close, stopping and holding the webs.
the nip rolls then come together, joining the taped end of the new web and the running web.
Next, the kniffe fires, severing the running web.
The clamps then release, allowing the web to moce through the nip rolls. The lower rolls serve to bond the forwardedge of tyhe splice a second time. a set of belts ensure control of the leading edge of the new web as it passes between the set of nip rolls.
Finally, the nip rolls return to the open position.
